EHS Leader Details:
Contract position- $
40.00 / hour First Shift
- Assess facility operations for regulatory applicability, and local regulatory compliance.
- Ensure compliance with applicable local, state, and federal safety, health and environmental regulations.
- Actively drive and support for Health and Safety programs (e.g., workplace safety and contractor administration) with operations and plant leadership level associates at the site.
- Identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate risks associated with chemical processes.
- Oversee the safe handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous chemicals.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement.
- Assist in the development and implementation of employee safety programs.
- Participate on EHS project teams.
- Provide and monitor safety training programs to instruct employees in site EHS policies and procedures.
- Respond to emergency situations and coordinate evacuation efforts if necessary.
- Maintain records of safety-related incidents and submit necessary reports to regulatory bodies.
- Focus on promoting and supporting an EHS culture from within by driving the implementation of core EHS programs, policies and initiatives.
- Lead Incident Investigation and drive corrective action through cause mapping and 5-why analysis.
- Be an active, engaged part of the site safety team by interreacting with associates remotely and in the field.
EHS Leader Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as an EHS professional in a manufacturing/industrial environment, (chemical industry a plus).
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline is preferred but not required.
- Industrial Chemical Industry experience is preferred, and combination of formal Health and Safety training will be considered.
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of health and safety regulations.
- Ability to work in fast paced environment and self-directed at times.
- Ability to effectively communicate and interact with all levels of the organization.
- Ability to lead and influence project teams.
- Passion for recognizing and leading positive change.
- Aptitude to lead and make challenging decisions in any situation.
- 10% Domestic Travel
