Elwood Staffing would like to inform job seekers about potential employment scams that involve individuals posing as our recruiters to solicit job seekers with job opportunities unrelated to our company. This issue has been reported in multiple states. The text scam poses as an Elwood Staffing recruiter and urges job seekers to apply for a fraudulent job. Some have reported they are being asked to contact them using Whatsapp to pay for computer equipment and background checks.

What steps should you take if you suspect you've received a fraudulent text?

Job-seekers who receive an unsolicited text, email, or similar message suggesting it is from Elwood Staffing should not provide any information.
If you have clicked a suspicious link or shared your information, take steps to secure your personal and financial accounts immediately. Review and dispute any unauthorized charges.

Helping you stay secure - how to recognize a scam

Elwood Staffing does not utilize mobile apps or messenger services to connect with job seekers. We will not reach out to you through or suggest that you use WhatsApp or other messaging platforms outside of regular SMS text messaging for communication.
Our recruiters will never ask for personal information such as your social security number, date of birth, or bank information prior to onboarding. During onboarding you will enter your information and passcode protect it.

Building Maintenance Technician Details:

Temporary position
$20.00 to $22.00 /hour
Full Time work available
First Shift (Monday through Friday from 08:00am to 04:30pm)

Work available for 2-3 months.
Responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks to ensure buildings, grounds, and equipment remain in excellent working condition.
Respond to maintenance requests and work orders in a timely and professional manner.
Troubleshoot and repair issues with lighting, doors, windows, locks, restrooms, and general fixtures.
Conduct basic carpentry, painting, drywall patching, and other cosmetic repairs.
Assist with seasonal tasks such as snow removal, landscaping, and pest control.
Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work.

Building Maintenance Technician Qualifications:

Previous experience in building maintenance or a similar role.
Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general repairs.
Familiarity with safety and compliance standards.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
Comfortable working in confined spaces.
