Process Technician Details:
Contract to Hire position- $
30.00 to $ 35.00 / hour First Shift
- Set up and optimize injection molding processes to ensure consistent part quality and efficient cycle times.
- Start up, shut down, and troubleshoot injection molding machines and related auxiliary equipment.
- Monitor and adjust process parameters such as temperature, pressure, and cycle time to maintain production standards.
- Perform mold changes and ensure proper mold installation, including water lines, hydraulics, and electrical connections.
- Conduct first-piece inspections and work with quality assurance to ensure parts meet specifications.
- Maintain detailed records of machine settings, adjustments, and production runs for process control and traceability.
- Identify and resolve process-related issues such as flash, short shots, burns, and dimensional inconsistencies.
- Collaborate with maintenance and tooling teams to address mold or machine performance issues.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to reduce scrap, improve cycle time, and enhance product quality.
- Train machine operators on proper molding procedures and assist in implementing standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Process Technician Qualifications:
- 3+ years of hands-on experience as a Process Technician in plastic injection molding.
- Strong understanding of injection molding machine operation, mold setup, and processing techniques.
- Familiarity with various thermoplastics, including ABS, PP, PC, Nylon, and others.
- Proficient in troubleshooting defects such as flash, short shots, sink marks, and warping.
- Experience with scientific molding principles and process documentation is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret part drawings, process sheets, and quality specifications.
