Contract: Working as a contractor offers the most flexible option to work on important projects, often with defined, pre-existing deadlines and move on to other projects upon completion. It affords you the flexibility to define the time periods you want to work full time and the time periods you want to sit back, relax, and take a vacation. Additionally, serving as an Elwood Professional contractor gives you the opportunity to gain marketable, high-demand skills and experience at a number of premier employers.

Contract-to-Hire: It's the classic “try before you buy” scenario; only, as an Elwood Professional contract-to-hire professional, you get some say in the outcome. In a contract-to-hire situation, you will work for a company for a pre-defined period of time; at the end of that contract, both you and the company can evaluate the overall experience and your individual future plans and decide if a long-term position makes sense.

Direct Hire: If you are looking for a full-time, long-term position, a direct hire opportunity is the perfect fit. Direct hire is just what it sounds like: you are hired directly into our client company. Elwood Professional recruiters do all of the legwork; but, after you sign a hiring contract, you are a full-fledged employee of the client company.

Medical, Vision, and Dental Coverage

Through Essential StaffCARE, we offer our contractors a variety of health, vision, dental, and Rx options. Contractors can choose from a Fixed Indemnity Medical Plan, an Affordable Care Act (ACA) qualified Minimum Essential Coverage Plan for preventive coverage, a Major Medical Affordable Minimum Value Plan (ACA Bronze Level), and dental and vision plans. For all plans except the ACA Bronze Plan, all contractors are eligible to enroll during their first 30 days of employment or during the company-wide open enrollment period. Once an associate has been determined to be full time, he or she is eligible for the ACA Bronze Plan within the time periods required by the ACA.

Life and Disability Insurance

Contractors may choose to elect term life insurance and short-term disability insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll during their first 30 days of employment or during the company-wide open enrollment period.

Telemedicine

Contractors who enroll in the Fixed Indemnity Medical Plan have access to Teladoc, a supplementary telemedicine plan. Teladoc offers access to a licensed physician 24/7/365 for phone and web visits. Employees are eligible to enroll during their first 30 days of employment or during the company-wide open enrollment period.

Accident Insurance

Contractors may choose to elect an accident insurance policy that provides 24-hour coverage to help pay for out-of-pocket expenses associated with an accident. Contractors are eligible to enroll during their first 30 days of employment or during the company-wide open enrollment period.

Holiday Pay & Additional Perks

Contractors can earn holiday pay, have access to online training and skills enhancement programs, and enjoy recognition and exclusive discount programs.

Tuition Discount

Elwood Staffing has formed a partnership with Olivet Nazarene University that makes contractors eligible for a 20% tuition discount and reduced application fees.

Convenient Payroll Options

Contractors are paid on a weekly basis. There's never a waiting period, and payroll can be directly deposited into an associate's bank account. For convenience, we also offer a debit card payment option.

In response to the finalized Transparency in Coverage rules issued by the Departments of Health and Human Services, Labor, and Treasury, the below link leads to the machine-readable files that include negotiated service rates and out-of-network allowed amounts between health plans and healthcare providers.
